Accessibility Policy
Last Updated: October 2026
1. Our Commitment
Durrington Community Cycle Project C.I.C. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors, including people with disabilities. As a community interest company serving the local community, we strive to make our website and physical workshop accessible, welcoming, and easy to use for everyone.
We continuously work to improve the user experience for all visitors and apply relevant accessibility standards, aiming to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
2. Accessibility Tools & The Ally Plugin
To assist website visitors with diverse access needs, our website incorporates the Ally Accessibility Plugin (Ally Toolbar). The Ally plugin allows you to tailor your browsing experience to suit your individual visual, cognitive, and physical preferences.
By clicking the accessibility icon on our website, you can access features including:
- Text Resizing & Font Adjustment: Increase or decrease text size and switch to dyslexia-friendly font options for improved readability.
- Contrast & Color Controls: Toggle high-contrast, dark mode, light mode, or inverted color themes to assist visually impaired or light-sensitive users.
- Link & Heading Highlighting: Emphasize clickable links, buttons, and headings to facilitate easier navigation.
- Animation & Motion Controls: Pause or disable moving elements, transitions, and animations to reduce distractions for cognitive accessibility.
- Screen Reader & Voice Assistance Integration: Enhance compatibility with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
3. Physical Workshop Accessibility
In addition to our website, we aim to keep our community cycle workshop welcoming and accessible:
- Location: The Pavilion, Pond Lane Recreation Ground, Pond Lane, Durrington, Worthing, BN13 2RG.
- Assistance: Our friendly volunteer mechanics are always on hand to assist visitors with physical access or communication preferences during open workshop hours (Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
4. Known Limitations & Ongoing Improvements
While we strive to ensure all pages and content are fully accessible, some legacy content or third-party embeds (such as external maps or social media widgets) may occasionally present accessibility challenges. We regularly audit our website using the Ally plugin and digital accessibility tools to identify and address any issues.
5. Feedback and Contact Information
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website and workshop. If you encounter accessibility barriers, need assistance, or require information in an alternative format, please reach out to us:
